TREASURE HUNTING GUIDE
In this guide I explain how to create T-Hunter char and how to begin treasure hunting. There are many ways to do this, you have to decide which one is the best for you. Primary every Treasure Hunter needs two skills: Cartography, Lockpicking and also usefull is Remove Trap. Having those skills you could in theory begin Treasure Hunting, but don't forget there are also monsters spawning. To kill them you will need Provocation skill, Warrior/Mage skills, or a friend who is able to provoke/kill the monsters. Full Treasure Hunter requires very high skillcap, especially Warrior. If we could have 1200 skill cap from the beginning, this guide would be useless. The problem is most of people after creating new char have 0 minutes age, and what then? Again, here comes this guide. I will focus on skillcap possible to reach by anyone, 10000 minutes and 900 Skillcap (see Skillcap/Statcap).
Training The Chars
Full Warrior (1-3 LVL only)

Anatomy 100%
Cartography 70%
Healing 100%
Lockpicking 70%
Magery 100%
Resisting Spells 100%
Meditation 60%
Poisoning 100%
Swordmanship 100%
Tatics 100%

This is easiest way to create T-Hunter char, but you will be able only to go on 1-3 Levels. Very good solution for turning PVP char into T-Hunter, because you have only two T-Hunting skills, and you can delete them anytime to become full warrior. No Remove trap skill, that means you will have to open treasure chest and take the trap on youself. On 3rd level at least 110 Strength is needed plus always boost youself before opening the chest and heal to full HP (you must be able to survive 125HP trap damage). 70% or more of Cartography, because 3rd level maps require 90% of Cartography to decode maps. I assume you can afford +20% Cartography jewel, otherwise raise the skill a bit to have 90% with jewel on (of course if you want to decode 3rd level maps). 70% or more of Lockpicking, enough for levels 1-3. I picked up Meditation because we needed a skill that cannot be trained till 100% and will help. Treasure hunter recalls a lot, and because as a warrior you cannot have high Intelligence, you would be just stuck sometimes on islands waiting for mana to regenerate. With Meditation passive mana regeneration is a lot faster - of course this skill is rather an option, you can put here any other skill, for example mentioned before Remove Trap.
Note: I didn't say you need to have all those skills on 100%,.This is just the max cap you can have with 900 skillcap. You cannot go on levels 4-5 with this template, because they are a lot harder than 3rd and require Provocation & Musicianship skills. For solution how to make Warrior T-Hunter for all levels scroll down.

Warrior

Anatomy 80%
Cartography 80%
Healing 80%
Lockpicking 80%
Macefighting 100%
Magery 90%
Musicianship 100%
Provocation 100%
Remove Trap 80%
Resisting Spells 100%

Hard one, making full warrior and Treasure hunter on one char is almost impossible. Even if I had a 1200 skillcap I still would have problems to fit all the skills. 80% Cartography for 5th level maps and a +20% or better jewel. 80% Lockpicking is enough for levels 1-3 but to open 4-5 you will need at least +10% jewel. Musicianship and Provocation both 100%, as they are most often used skills while T-Hunting. 80% Remove Trap will let you untrap 95% of the traps, you can use a jewel to be 100% sure. 100% Resisting Spells is recommended. 100% Macefighting, 80% Anatomy, 80% Healing - doesn't really matter if you make it 70-70-70 or 80-90-90, you will use Provocation so those skills won't be used too much, but generally at least 70% in all those skills should let you kill the last monster, as long as it isn't a Great Wyrm or a Deamon - those are hardly killable even having all skills maxed (in Warrior mode). I picked up Macefighting which without Poison deals better damage than other combat skills. No Tactics skill - no bonus damage. I had to remove some skills, as I said it's hard to fit all the skills, this char won't be a PVP'er, that's for sure.

Mage

Evaluating Intelligence 90%
Cartography 80%
Lockpicking 80%
Magery 100%
Meditation 80%
Musicianship 100%
Provocation 100%
Remove Trap 80%
Resisting Spells 100%
Wrestling 90%

The best solution for new T-Hunting chars. Mage doesn't need so many skills as a warrior do. 90% Evaluating Intelligence - just enough for killing monsters, 80% Cartography - jewels are required to decode 2-5 lvl maps, 80% Lockpicking - also jewels will be needed for 4-5 levels, at least 95% Lockpicking is needed for opening 5th lvl chest. 100% Magery so you can cast EarthQuake with less failing, very helpful spell on levels 1-2. 80% Meditation - should be enough for mage/pvmer. Musicianship, Provocation and Resisting Spells of course on 100%. 90% Wrestling is enough for casting while being hit by monsters. I didn't choose Macefighting because Wrestling works way better without Anatomy/Tactics skills.

Those templates are not perfect, it always can be done better. I just wanted to show a few examples of how you can make it. Details about training particular skills you will find in the skill section.

Getting Started

Maps & Automap: To recognize location of Treasure Chest on map, you will need Automap.
Follow instructions, choose directory and wait for the client upgrade...

Now select Atlas, Common, Dungeon and Rares maps...

Set everyting on "Faster" you will be asked three times for three different maps...

When Automap is finnaly running choose "Map" options and unselect "Tilt Map"

Go to Places options and choose "Filter..." now to "Files" and select "Treasure"...

You should see now marked spots with treasure chests

Should be easy now to recognize places.

Items & Tips: Beside maps you will also need a Shovel, Lockpicks and runes/runebooks to most common spawns, or all of them if possible. All spawns should fit in 3 runebooks, the best idea is to borrow and copy runes with spawns. Another way is to buy a boat and swim to all islands to mark runes on your own. Most of the spawns are on islands but some are also on mainland. To dig a chest double click a shovel, target map and then youself. You have to stand exactly on the spawning spot (+/- one tile). If you're close to the spawn, you will get a message where you should move. Mining is very helpful, lets you dig while being far away from the chest spot. 10% of Mining = one tile away. Be warned of Player Killers who are checking islands looking for some fresh meat. The best solution is to recall (as a mage) - no problem, but as a warrior there is a serious problem with that. If a mage is attacking you, you can try to unquip (.quip 0) and recall. If you'll do this fast enough there is a chance of recalling, but if a warrior is attacking you it's a lot harder to escape (especially on small islands). You can keep running/hide and call for help or use a trick with a boat. Always carry a boat deed with you and try to escape on it. Boats by default are closed so if you'll get on it, you should be safe and able to recall.
Note: Don't decode more than 100 maps at once. There is a limit of 114 items that can be held inside your backpack, anything above that will dissappear when decoded. Once map is decoded it can be only dig up by the player who decoded it and Cartography skill isn't checked anymore so you can, for example, decode 10k maps, delete your Cartography skill completely and then begin Treasure Hunting.
